Joint Venture with GoldSpot Discoveries

Yorkton has partnered with GoldSpot Discoveries, with a mission to transform the mineral discovery process and reduce capital risk. This will be done by using machine learning to explore, survey, and maximize the ROI of our potentially mineral-rich land holdings. GoldSpot operates at the forefront of advanced technologies and offers an evolving suite of services. Solutions are focused on turning geological data into Smart Targets and advanced geological modelling that increases the likelihood of mineral discovery. Cutting-edge technologies are applied to collect, clean and interpret data, while advanced machine learning algorithms are used to extract correlations and recognize patterns never seen before.

GoldSpot is set to lend its proprietary AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology to advance the exploration of our Central Newfoundland projects. GoldSpot has been granted an option to acquire a 0.5% NSR on the following licenses in Newfoundland for $2.0 million:

  • The Parkview Project (1,850 ha.)
  • The Knights-Melange Project (950 ha.)

Services Provided by GoldSpot

Image Analytics – GoldSpot uses image processing techniques to extract new information from existing visual resources. Machine learning automates expensive and time-consuming manual work and is used to create new datasets that result in more accurate models and smarter targets. This expertise includes the use of:

  • Drillcore Photo Analytics to extract untapped value from drillcore photographs.
  • Downhole Optical Analytics to automate and interpret 360˚ images from drillhole cameras.
  • Remote sensing and Satellite Image Analytics to detect promising alteration and detect map outcrops for exploration.
  • Undersea Image Recognition, a new, breakthrough technology that allows us to model ocean nodule beds for mineral content.

Geophysics – GoldSpot uses a combination of conventional geophysics to process and re-interpret older data, and Geophysical Inversion to extract and interpolate 3D models from 2D data sets. Proprietary software processing is then used to combine data sets in novel ways, using machine learning to uncover unseen patterns faster and more efficiently.

Resource Estimation & Modelling – Combining skills in structural and geological interpretation of ore deposits with the use of innovative and proprietary machine learning algorithms, GoldSpot constructs and refines dynamic 3D geological models and resource estimates across all commodities and deposit types.

3D Geological Modelling allows advanced machine learning algorithms to extract previously unseen correlations that generate Smart Targets quicker and more efficiently than traditional methods.
